I think some chickadees nested close by.
There is a group of 3 or 4 chickadees that seem to be beginning flyers. They have been moving from cherry tree to roof to fence to wire and singing and singing.
Not the chickadee warning song (chick-a-dee, dee, dee), but one, I think, of joy. "Hey look, I'm flying!"
I don't have a lot of experience cooking gooseberries.
I am a beginner.
After checking a few recipes I decided to try cooking my small handful with just a bit of water and a sprinkle of sugar to make a topping for vanilla ice cream.
For lunch today I pulled a few things out of the fridge that I knew needed to be eaten. The last bit of smoked Gouda, a handful of peas and some golden beets. For a salad dressing a bit of olive oil, a splash of vinegar, a bit of thyme and salt and pepper. Some walnuts.
Worth a repeat but who knows if I'll have these things on hand again, in this combination? Never the same meal twice around here.
Similar, yes, but not the same.
