    Experiments in dyeing fabric with plant materials. Most of these experiments are done with solar heat only.

    In June of 2006 I started knitting on the bus. Other than the sweater, all of these projects have been done primarily on my breaks at work or on the bus. This isn't the complete collection. At this time I know that I'm missing pictures of a few other pairs of socks that I hope to include later.

what iffing....

What if...?  What a wonderful idea.  A question that ripples along.  And it seems once the question is asked it leads to asking it again and again. 

I wanted to keep track of some of the fiber related "what if's" I'm asking and to have a place to add to the list as I go along.  Here we go: 

What if I played with my fabric more?

What if I made my own fabric?

What if I found away to use fabrics I don’t like as much?

What if I only used reclaimed fabric or sustainable fabric?

What if I used fabric pieced or embellished by me for clothing?

What if I chopped up old quilts?

What if I combined old and new techniques? 

What if I only hand sewed a piece? 

What if no scrap was too small?

What if I mixed different textures and weights of fabric?

What if heirloom fabrics stopped being “precious” and were used?
