I inked the back of a hazelnut leaf and stamped away....
Typepad or my email is being funny and didn't post some responses that I sent so:
- I don't know what caused the holes in this wool. Probably moths, the blanket was in my grandparent's barn for years I'm sure and came to me with the holes.
- The fabric that I printed the fish on is InkjetPrinting by Jacquard. I have an Epson printer. I think the printer used can make a difference in the results too.
One of the things that my koi project has me thinking about is the tension of stitching. I wanted the fabric to pucker and swirl, so I pulled the thread tight. But along the fish I wanted it to be smooth so I placed my stitches closer together and kept things fairly loose. I've never thought about how this would cause different effects before. I like it.
