It will fade. It may even disappear completely, although I did use a mordant. There is poetry in the idea of a mordant. Something that will make something last better, work better.
Two leaf prints made with blueberry leaves. One is the actual print, the other a repeat where it bled through (I do know how to make it not do that, but chose to let it happen.) I like the shadow print best, there is more potential. There is a touch of red cabbage dye on this fabric too.
I have created a steamer by drilling holes in the top part of a double boiler. The pot belonged to one of my great-grandmothers. It's aluminum, probably not a good idea to use it for food anymore.
Velvet dyed with red cabbage and a quick dip in the eucalyptus along one edge. It just might capture the winter sky.
