Sorry Kaite, couldn't figure out how to make the antlers wiggle. Maybe if you squint hard?
Playing with the color a bit. It changes the perception.
As I stitched tonight I kept thinking about how the world is not flat, a solid foot-hold is not guaranteed. I thought about my grandmother telling me about my Finnish great-great-grandmother who spoke very little English. Grandma said that she would go to stay with her grandmother during the summer and that they would "manage to communicate." What was mostly communicated was love.
While doing research on reindeer, I followed a link to information about the Sami, (who in some countries are the only group allowed to herd reindeer) also known as Lapp. not a positive term. Lapp may also be defined as "a patch of cloth for mending." (Wikipedia) Thinking about that too.
Playing with more colors. Some fabrics were gifts from friends and family, some plant dyed, another kind of gift. Beginning again. A beginning that is a gift from here.
