I am working on understanding what is essential to making a sweater, using
the instructions from Knitting without Tears by Elizabeth Zimmermann. It's really more of a method than a pattern. Three rows in and I already feel brave enough to try some fitting adjustments as they come along. I also know that as soon as I finish this sweater I'll be starting another using the same method...perhaps with my own hand spun yarn.
Thinking about how repetition can lead to understanding. About how a method can lead to choices, where a pattern might limit or constrain.
