Sweaters are made one stitch at a time. I'm at about 4 inches which would be a total of 5,600 stitches.
Rain barrels can be filled one rain drop at a time. I never got my rain barrel placed directly under the down spout. It still managed to be filled up all the way to the top. 50 gallons of water.
Found in the garden (a baby conk). One branch can be a home...
On Saturday morning I wanted to be somewhere before the buses started running. I decided to walk downtown to catch the first bus that I could for the second half of my destination. It felt good to walk. I missed the bus.
I decided to walk the second half of my journey too. This part of the walk I can do by walking along the trail that runs beside the bay.
Sometimes I regret that by not having a car, I can't go all the places that I think I might want to go. But the truth is, I rarely went those places when I did have a car.
And everytime I walk down along the edge of the water, it doesn't matter anymore. Because this place is so special, and I love it so much, that it is usually enough....
Didn't think I was going to finish this as the weather was much better than forecast. That meant lots of time in the garden. But I did indeed finish it:
The fabric is a mixture of plant dyed raw silk, gauze and cotton; linen, more silk scraps, wool from a wedding dress, trim from the edge of a wool blanket, and bits of scraps from here and there. One square was a gift. The bottom is salvaged from a pair of jeans my grandmother gave me to recycle.
Woven squares work wonderfully well for this type of project.
I may not be on line much for a bit, having connection issues/browser issues. Big sigh....
Update: Keeping fingers crossed that problem is solved. Sometimes updating causes more problems. I was able to reload my old browser so I think I'm okay.
Another pair of finished socks for the collection.
The baby chicks home for now. As they grow they'll need a bit more space.
Like most babies they play hard and sleep quickly. I have to be careful not to put too many wood chips in the tub because they really like to scratch around. If they get too enthusiastic they can fill up their water bowl.
I've put together a few photos and some info about my coop for those that are curious about raising chickens. You can look here if you like. I certainly don't consider myself an expert on chickens, but I can say they are a lot of fun and I wish I'd set up a coop sooner.
This morning I finally got a glimpse of that big moon. It was glorious, if slightly smaller than what I imagine it was a couple nights ago.

Transformed into yarn.
A new bath mat. The binding is made of scraps. The orange print I found buried in a pile. I think I had a purpose for it once upon a time. The bottom layer is an old towel.
Baby tomatoes. I am especially pleased with these tomatoes as they are from seeds I saved. Not exactly sure of the variety. It's a yellow cherry tomato.
Chicks! The top is an Ameracucana, a breed that lays blue eggs. The darker is a Barred rock.

Pulmonaria, or Lungwort. Of the lungs. Breathing spring. About a month later than last year.
Crocheting ruffles into an old sweater. Originally I was going to felt the fabric and then sew it into a pillow. Now I'm not so sure about felting, but very sure it will make a fantastic pillow. The green is yarn that I spun. A few more rows to go.
