I'm not reading all of these for the first time, only the top two. Most of the rest I am referencing as I plant corn, squash, cukes, more lettuce, and beans. Soon I'll be starting a winter garden. Doesn't that sound strange? Summer hasn't even started. And I'm starting to harvest herbs for salves.
The volunteer squash that I left in the garden is twice the size of what I've planted.
And then there is Son of Hassel-Free Sewing by Joan Wiener and Sharon Rosenberg. It's a book my mom found a couple years ago. It's fun to look through.
I'm pondering pants. I have never managed to make a pair of pants that I really like. Shorts yes, but for some reason adding a few more feet causes me problems.
Today I've been working on a skirt made from a piece of batik I found at a second hand store and I-cord (a knit tube) for a drawstring. It occurred to me that I-cord is very similar to some types of rope.
Night Circus is one of those books you don't ever want to end so I am reading it very slowly. I'm at the last 50 pages.
Maybe these are circus petunias?
