Thinking about: Cherry trees reaching towards each other, connected by spider webs, echoing the power lines above... Someday the two cherry trees, one sour the other sweet, will form an arch that someone coming up the walkway will need to walk under. For now I did a little pruning.
Eating:
Polenta patties topped with cheese, romano beans, onions and tomatoes.
First Harvest:
I made a crumble.
Indigo update:
I'm following directions from Rita Buchanan's book A Weaver's Garden to process my indigo (polygonum tinctorium). I ended up soaking the leaves for about a week and then strained the leaves out. For this vat I'm using yeast and sugar. The little flecks are some of the leaf that I wasn't able to strain out. It's supposed to be tan when it's ready to dye. This is day two of fermentation. I think I'll let it sit one more day.
In hand:
It's a fool.
