Today I finished the white tank top, two "basic" skirts (just needed to do the waists and hems) and made up a quick little basket to store the new potatoes I harvested this morning:
It's a little larger than needed so that I can fold the tops down to cover the potatoes.
I harvested raspberries, blueberries, garlic, shallots, and herbs.
The herbs (oregano, thyme, parsley, and lovage) went in the dehydrator. Later I'll grate carrot, onion, and garlic dry and add it to the mix. Most of the raspberries went into the freezer.
I made pickled cherries, roated tomato sauce with a bag of tomatoes from the freezer and garlic from the garden, and yogurt mousse (recipe from The French Market Cookbook by Clotilde Dusoulier.
I pulled weeds for an hour, took a short nap, talked to my mother, played with the dogs and the cat and will clean the chicken coop and water before the day is over.
I read several chapters in The Good Life Lab, Radical Experiments in Hands-On Living by Wendy Jehanara Tremayne.
Time well spent.

Addendum: I also gave Briar a bath after a skunk encounter. It wasn't a direct hit, but she was a bit stinky. Unfortunately what I saw was a baby skunk. That means mama is was probably under the porch too.
Thank goodness for the skunk basket!
Funnily enough the word of the day at wiktionary is: effluvium: "a gaseous or vaporous emission, especially a foul smelling one."
