Last night's dinner: Ling Cod with a peach/tomato relish (still working on getting the amount of vinegar in this right, a tad bit tart).
When I was a child I would not eat Ling Cod because I thought it was an ugly fish. How could it taste good? I did however eat Red Snapper (yes it's a pretty fish). So one night when we were camping along the coast of Oregon, my parents bought some fish and told me it was Red Snapper. And it was good! And then my brothers gave me grief because they knew it was really Ling Cod. And now I eat Ling Cod, when I can find it and it is fresh. And it is a treat.
This is probably where I get in trouble for not calling my parents immediately to tell them, "Fresh Ling Cod at the Co-op."
