A persimmon and a medlar. I bought these at the farmer's market last week, but am waiting for them to ripen a bit more before I eat them. Neither of these is common to this area.
I've never tried a medlar before but am intrigued. As for the persimmon, I'm still figuring out if I like them. Every once in a while I try one again to see. Most research says that children need to be exposed to a new food at least 10 times before they will even try it, let alone like it (info about this here).
