It's that time of year when work gets overwhelmingly busy and I struggle to do much more than make sure I eat, sleep, get to work and water everything that needs it to stay alive.
I picked about 25 peaches of my tree, the squirrels got about 10.
Thank goodness they can be picked on the green side. I don't think I'd have any otherwise.
There was one Gravenstein on my apple tree. The tree is about 2 year old and is a replacement for the gnarly huge old Gravenstein apple tree that was here when I moved into this house. The tree was full of hollow branches and barely set fruit. Gravenstein's are one of my favorite apples so I am very happy to have this one begin to produce.
The weather is much more comfortable than it has been. Lower humidity, temperatures in the low 70's. The days noticeably shorter: sunrise 6:07 and sunset 8:18.
