This morning started with rain.
I had errands to run and stopped at one of my favorite parks to eat a late breakfast. It was the first time I'd been to the park in over a year.
Something about it made me sad and I just went home rather than run the rest of my errands and took a 2 hour nap.
(There is a cat under that blanket.)
I woke up to sunshine and flowers.
The first rose to bloom each year; it's covered in tiny yellow roses (Lady Banks).
I want more of those tulips...I really do
Just playing with the pieces.
Square number 20 contains strips cut from masks that I made that were two small to wear comfortably.
It's the first square that actually has fabric from masks worn, rather than the fabric that matches masks made.
I should make a few more masks but keep resisting, wanting what I have to be enough.
Good enough.
"Good enough" is still my most common answer when asked how I am doing. It's become code for "I am tired but there is so much that I am grateful for."
"Good enough," is putting the pieces together so that it works, not needing perfect.
And "good enough" will be 36 squares, approximately 1 foot per square.
6 feet by 6 feet.
Make a salad.
Or maybe even if it doesn't fall apart....
Today's 15 minutes of making:
Cat toys.
For the cat, who needs her nails trimmed.
It's hard to catch her at the right time though.
And really, the flowers are just going to keep coming...
it's that time of year.
Spring.
I love flowers.
I could just post flowers but I know that would get old for some...
So a bit of digital play to make things a little more interesting.
Three layers: a flower in color + a collage background + the flower in black and white.
The transparency is adjusted in various locations to make different layers be visible.
Also, I am thinking that laying out squares like this might be a good way to plan a quilt...
Breakfast on the porch with my journal.
And the bitty-birds.
Yesterday there were two bald eagles, each sitting in their own tree across the street.

Another season.
Picked rhubarb and asparagus today.
First dinner on the porch.
Dehydrated carrots and herbs crisp up nicely with paneer.
And a little bit of stitching.
I may do something similar but different on another solid color striped...

Seventy degrees F today!
I spent some time stitching outside, first attaching panels to the sides of the dragon square and then starting the first of what will probably be many flowers.
Some will be appliqued, some stitched, and some needle felted wool.
A garden of variety.
I also made some more cyanotype prints.
This is the weather vane my dad made for me several years ago.
The weather vane is made of metal cut with a plasma cutter and casts very distinct shadows.
I already know what this bottle needs to be filled with...
